The Parkwood
This is a small 2 storey cottage to be built in the Bancroft area this spring. Because of a high water table we decided to go with Postech's helical piers. These are a galvanized steel piers with a screw type tip. They are basically screwed into the ground as deep as required to give sufficient bearing. http://postech-foundations.com/thermal-piles/

The FarmHouse
A colleague has purchased an old farm house in the Haliburton Highlands on a beautiful piece of land. The farmhouse has been renovated on top of renovations on top of renovations..... So he has asked me to build a 3D model of the house and create a set of blueprints so he can then decide on how he would like to renovate the home to suit his needs. It was quite a challenge but fun at the same time.

First Draft of the Fleming 2016 Project
Fleming College's Sustainable Building Program will be heading back to Abbey Gardens in 2016 to build a retail store to be used by Haliburton Wind & Solar. The building will feature rammed earth, straw bale, straw/clay, and cordwood walls. The building will be super insulated and off-grid with HWS providing the power as a showroom for their products. Here is the first rough draft of the building. You can see it will be near the Haliburton Highlands Brewing Company.

Construction is nearly complete on the Jones' Cottage
We had a chance to visit the site of the new Jones Cottage being built by Card Bros. They are doing a great job and it really is looking great. Can't wait to see the flooring down, paint on the walls, fire in the fireplace! I've included a couple of images from today as well as the computer rendering and watercolour sketch.
